TWS specialise in the manufacture of waveguides, waveguide components and assemblies. The range of standard components is offered with a range of waveguide flanges based on the major international flange interface specifications. Standard flanges are available in Brass or Aluminium, with Copper Flanges available on request. Certain designs of flanges are available from stock to provide a minimum delivery lead-time on preferred waveguide sizes. All flanges are manufactured to the highest quality standards. The wide variety of flanges detailed in this catalogue are available as standard on the majority of TWS products although certain designs are not suitable for all designs. TWS offer technical support at the design stage to ensure the most suitable flange is chosen for every application. The Waveguide Solution facility is approved to ISO9001:2000.

Some customers find the wide array of flanges available confusing so here are a few guidelines:

  • Material - choose aluminium flanges for use with aluminium waveguide or brass flanges for copper or brass waveguide.
  • A choke flange is usually used for very high powers, it needs to be used next to a plain (or cover) flange. (A choke flange is more sensitive to alignment so use the correct bolts).
  • As an alternative to a choke / plain joint, a plain / plain joint together with a high power shim produces good results. The shims are generally crushable (single use) or have sprung fingers to ensure good contact.
  • An O ring flange needs to be used next to a plain flange
